Cooking for a Cause Returns to Pasadena to Support Food Pantry Amid Rising Need

Friends In Deed will host its annual Cooking for a Cause fundraising event on Sunday, Sept. 29 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Agnes Restaurant and Cheesery, located at 40 West Green Street in Pasadena. All proceeds will benefit the nonprofit organization’s Food Pantry, the largest food bank in Pasadena. Pasadena Man Arrested After Police Recover Firearms, Narcotics in Search Warrant Operation

A 29-year-old Pasadena man was arrested Friday morning after police recovered firearms, narcotics, body armor and ammunition during a search warrant operation in the city’s north end, authorities said. Lazaro Tapia was taken into custody at approximately 10:40 a.m. on Sept. 5 at a residence in the 800 block of North Euclid Avenue, according to Pasadena Police Lt. Matt Campeau.
